PARENT EXPECTATIONS

We all want what is best for our children, however sometimes during matches we loose sight as parents as what is trying to be accomplished.  Good sportsmanship is imperative for players but also for parents who set the example for our youth.  We ask you as a club to keep everything in perspective, sit back and enjoy the game and don't get caught up in the heat of the moment comments or arguments.  We assure you this will make your soccer experience more enjoyable.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Children have more need for example than criticism.

  • Your child is playing at a high level, it would be impossible for most
of you as a parent to do what your child is doing on the field so have
    respect for all the players.

  • Leave the game at the field; it is the coaches’ job to find weaknesses in the player, not the parents.

  • Trust your coach, this is his job, we don’t come into your work place and comment on your job decisions weekly.

  • The opponents are necessary friends. Without them your child could not participate.  Treat them as such.

  • Applaud good plays by members of your team and members of the
    opposing team.

  • All referees follow the same creed: to watch every move of every
player and to call the game to the best of their ability.

  • Do not openly question a referee’s judgment and never their
honesty. The referee is a symbol of fair play, integrity and
    sportsmanship.

  • No matter how wrong the referee and how right you are the referee will always win, don’t argue calls, the ref wont change his call because you disagree.

  • Accept the results of each game. Encourage the child to:
(a)Be gracious in victory, (b)Turn defeat to victory by working towards improvement

  • Any disrespect towards a referee by a parent can and will be delt with swiftly.

  • Parents who refuse to abide by the Code of Conduct may be requested to leave the field by the referee, the coach, team manager or club representative.

  • Continued disruptiveness can lead to suspension and or removal
    from the program.

  • Never criticize a player on your team or an opponents team, this is
the lowest form of misbehavior in youth sport and will not be
    tolerated.

  • Stay behind the touch line

  • Do not use profanity

  • React positively to the team’s losses and wins

  • Help in fund raising activities to pay for registration, uniforms, etc.

Thanks in advance, we know you will abide by our expectations and help us build our young players into strong footballers.
